MICHAEL HEWITT-Owner & Senior Personal Trainer

Michael has been in the Australian Health and Fitness industry for more than 20 years and is the owner of Stones Corner Health And Fitness.

Over his many years In the industry, he’s worked as a PT, owned PT and Group Fitness businesses, run corporate health programs, worked as an industry business coach, presented at fit colleges, tafe’s and mentored many up and coming fitness professionals.

Coinciding with his passion for the fitness industry, is human behaviour. He’s spent many years understanding himself through mindfulness and self awareness and others via observation and continually up-skilling himself in the areas of personal development.

He really does enjoy consistently learning why humans behave the way they do, positively or negatively, in different situations.

He has his own belief that ‘most people don’t want to be unfit, overweight or lead an unhealthy life, but many do and don’t know why.

His skill set allows him to dig below the surface and guide people to finding their own ‘WHY’ and then putting a plan into action for healthy changes to occur.

Recovering from a knee injury through Pilates was a life-changing journey that inspired me to pursue a career as a Pilates instructor. I am deeply passionate about Reformer Pilates due to its ability to strengthen the body, increase flexibility, and boost overall well-being with a low-impact and highly effective workout.

Currently, as a dedicated third-year Clinical Exercise Physiology student at QUT, I am deeply immersed in the world of health and fitness. Since my early twenties, I’ve been captivated by the power of weightlifting, Olympic lifting, and strength and hypertrophy training.

With over 18 years of rich experience in netball at both club and regional representative levels, I’ve had the privilege to coach, umpire, and compete at the state level. My journey includes being part of the prestigious Qld Suns Netball umpiring development squad, a testament to my commitment and expertise.

My heart beats for helping clients achieve their health and fitness aspirations. Whether it’s enhancing aerobic capacity, building strength, or training for a specific event, I am devoted to guiding each individual towards their unique goals. Witnessing their transformation and success fuels my passion and dedication to this rewarding journey.
